STITCHING A LEGACY

Brochure Design

As a personal project, I tasked myself with creating a concept brochure guide for an on-going exhibit at Old Dominion University’s museum, the Barry Art Museum.
The Barry Art Museum is a cultural hub at Old Dominion University that advances the understanding of art in its many diverse forms through collecting, display, interpretation, and research. The Martha Chase Exhibition, Progressive Kindness, is a temporary exhibit in the Doll Gallery inside of the Museum highlighting Chase's works.

CHALLENGE

Creating a visually engaging and functional brochure guide for a temporary exhibition within a larger gallery. The brochure provided visitors with essential details about the exhibition, its themes, and featured artworks, while enhancing their overall experience. I carefully crafted the layout, balancing striking visuals with clear typography to ensure both accessibility and appeal. The design aligned with the exhibition’s tone and the gallery’s branding, aiming to guide visitors through the space while deepening their connection to the artwork.

SOLUTION

By creating a series of separate graphic works including a logotype, an exhibition guide/map, and an accompanying poster, I was able to combine each individual element into a complete brochure.
