Challenge

The challenge of this project was developing an original marketing asset for the series “Agatha All Along”, which is produced by Marvel Studios. With a vast promotional budget at their disposal, Marvel typically utilizes high-impact strategies like billboards and public installations. The objective, however, was to create a unique form of promotional content that stood apart from the standard approaches already executed by the studio—something fresh and innovative that would capture attention and spark curiosity.

Strategy – Television

The most effective approach was to design a QR code that would serve as a gateway to an immersive 360° environment. I developed an interactive augmented reality experience, combining animations, video content, and a carefully crafted perspective pathway to guide viewers seamlessly through the space. By leveraging the latest innovation in streaming—pause ads—the QR code can appear during a viewer's streaming experience, whether they’re watching a series or a YouTube video. With a simple scan from the comfort of their couch, viewers are instantly transported to The Witches' Road, no standing required.

Strategy – Mobile

The QR Code could also be placed in Instagram ads and stories. Having a viewer/follower screenshot the code and follow the same instructions as they would from the pause ads. Exploring The Road in a public setting would not only capture attention and turn heads but would also generate increased curiosity, ultimately drawing more viewers to the series and elevating its profile.

Process

Using Adobe Aero, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Blender, I crafted a fully immersive 360° augmented reality experience. The design incorporates dynamic animations, video content, and a carefully designed perspective pathway, guiding users through a seamless, interactive environment. Each element was thoughtfully integrated to enhance the narrative and deepen the viewer’s engagement with the space, resulting in a rich experience that pulls users into the world.

JOIN THE COVEN.

In Blender, I used textures, shading, keyframes, and other aspects of the software to separately create objects that would be brought together in Adobe Aero.

An important limitation to note with Adobe Aero is it's maximum file size of 50MB, meaning all Blender objects had to be low-poly and not hyperrealistic.

EXPERIENCE IT YOURSELF!

After the Blender objects were completed, they were imported into Aero to create the 3D environment, where the background music file was also added in.
