PARTHENON FILM FEST

Convention Branding

The Parthenon Film Festival, a conceptual project inspired by the grandeur of ancient Greece, celebrates the art of filmmaking as a beacon of creativity, vision, and storytelling. Just as the Parthenon stands as a symbol of timeless excellence, our festival honors the craft of cinema, showcasing films that explore universal themes of triumph, transformation, and discovery. From captivating narratives to groundbreaking visual experiences, we invite audiences to witness films that resonate with the same depth and beauty as the myths that have shaped our collective imagination. Join us for a cinematic journey that transcends time and place, where every film tells a story worthy of legend.

Challenge

As part of this project, I collaborated with a team to create an original convention concept, which presented the unique challenge of developing something new from the ground up. We worked together to craft its the concept of the convention but divided tasks across brand identity, motion design, and UI/UX. Our deliverables included a variety of assets, from physical items like kiosks, posters, lanyards, and stickers, to digital elements such as social media graphics, intro templates, and logos. Each piece was designed to reflect the festival’s blend of ancient mythological inspiration and modern cinematic storytelling, ensuring a cohesive and engaging experience for both attendees and participants.

The system was separated into three distinct categories:

Motion led by Vaughn Davis, Identity led by Andre Majette, and UI/UX led by Emily Webster.

Animated Film Posters (Horizontal)

The aspect of this project I took the lead on was the motion graphics, where I was responsible for adding visual dynamism and cohesion. I worked with the branding guidelines developed by collaborator Andre Majette, ensuring the motion design aligned with and enhanced the established brand identity. By integrating Andre's color palette, typography, and visual style, I created a seamless, engaging experience that remained true to the brand.

Identity

The brand identity was led by collaborator Andre Majette, whose design skills were instrumental in shaping the convention's visual direction. Majette directed the color palette, typography, and overall visual language, establishing a cohesive tone that became the foundational core of the entire project. His work influenced every design element, ensuring a unified and impactful aesthetic that defined the event and contributed to its success.

UI/UX

Emily Webster led the development of a comprehensive digital platform for the convention, overseeing the design and implementation of the event’s app, website, and interactive kiosks. Her skills ensured a cohesive, user-friendly experience across all touchpoints, providing attendees with seamless access to event schedules, venue maps, speaker information, and real-time updates.
